Monotype Workshop and Exhibition: Monotyping is a type of printmaking made by drawing or painting on a smooth, non-absorbent surface. Artists are invited to attend a workshop and experiment with various types of monotypes, pulled both by hand and by using a small press. Artists will then select their best work for an exhibition to be held in the gallery at the Yates between September 25 - October 30, 2010. The workshop will be held Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13 at the Bowman, between 10am and 3pm, and lunch will be included. Some materials will be on hand such as inks and paints, but artists will be expected to have their own paper and should bring their own paint and inks. I would encourage artists to investigate monotyping, and show up with ideas they would like to pursue. The workshop is non-instructional, but rather hands-on and collaborative. Please RSVP your attendance by May 15.
