Potemkin Artist-Run Gallery opens on November 10

Don't miss the excitement!  The premier exhibition at the Potemkin Artist-Run Gallery opens at 8pm on Saturday, November 10.  The location is 411 - 3rd Avenue South, right above the Owl Acoustic Lounge.  Everybody is welcome!

The Potemkin Collective is a loosely organized, non-hierarchical group in Lethbridge, Alberta. They are committed to organizing open and inclusive theme exhibitions in alternative and ad hoc spaces in the city. The concept of the collective is to nurture the gallery space as a site for creativity and play, and to break down the schisms and divisions that polarize art-styles and disciplines.

Garden of Spirits Opens November 3rd!

The Bowman Arts Centre is pleased to present "Garden of Spirits" by Marcella Cooper.  This suite of paintings uses the motif of the flower as a metaphor for an individual's ability to grow, blossom and bloom, even when planted amongst adversity.

"Garden of Spirits" takes place in solidarity with Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  A portion from the sale of each art work will be donated to the YWCA Harbour House which has been providing crisis beds for women and children escaping abusive environments since 1981.

The opening reception is Saturday, November 3, from 7pm - 9pm.  
Everyone is welcome. 
The exhibition runs until January 19, 2013.
